What is different about Bukit Mertajam housing?

Two things we plan around. First, security grilles are near-universal on the older terrace stock, and grilles genuinely change the job — the glass behind them has to be reached through or around the bars, and the grilles themselves collect dust and cobwebs that will fall onto clean glass if left. Second, louvre windows are still common in the older houses here, more so than on the island. Each louvre blade is cleaned individually, which is slow work, so a house with three louvre windows can cost noticeably more than one with three casements of the same size.

What does it cost in Bukit Mertajam?
